Initial Consultation
If you already have ideas or a hand sketch that you’re set on, we can use that as the basis of design. You can email scans or text pictures of your sketches or ideas to info@rodco.design.
If you don’t have one, we can sit down and draw something up together. It can take as little as 30 minutes! Our Design should be adaptable to accommodate your lifestyle. It should be inspirational and functional. It should be efficient to build, and cost-effective. Any alterations to your home should be purposeful, sensitive to your family’s needs, and be designed to last generations.
Rod Co. is here to help you shape your ideas into reality and legalize them so that you can move on to enjoying your home life. After we establish a realistic scope of work, Rod Co. will provide you with our proposal and quote, which you can decide whether to move forward with and execute into an agreement. No pressure!
Preliminary Set
A preliminary set of drawings are your first draft plans. They’re comprised of a floor plan of the design to give you an idea of the layout, room(s) size(s), and total square footage. Once the floor plan is approved by you, we will move on to the Final Draft and Construction Drawings.
Sometimes we nail it in one try, BUT sometimes you may want to adjust your design, and we totally understand! Rod Co. accommodates our clients with one revision to their design – it’s included in our proposal/agreement. This allows for any modifications of the plan to ensure you’re getting exactly what you’re looking for.
Above all, we want you to be happy before we move forward!
Final Draft and Construction Drawings
After you approve the preliminary set of drawings for your project, Rod Co. moves forward with preparing the entire final draft of construction drawings and details required by the authority having jurisdiction and adopted building codes.
After that, we submit these documents for your construction permit(s) and notify you of that milestone!
The authority having jurisdiction will perform their review of your drawings and may have corrections they’d like addressed before issuing your permit. Again, Rod Co. is by your side to handle any corrections that may need to happen.
We’re here to take you and your project across the finish line, only parting ways after you have a legal construction permit and plans in your hands, and ready to start building!
